Description

Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area extends across a barrier island. To the east is the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west is the Intracoastal Waterway. The park has a total area of 145 acres, and is a prime nesting beach for 3 species of sea turtles from May thru September. The area offers excellent surf fishing and sunbathing.
During World War II, this park served as a US Army Air Corp post.

Alerts and Important Information

The park gates close at sunset. If you plan to arrive late please contact the park prior to 5 PM on the day of your arrival.

Pets are allowed in family camping areas overnight. Pets are prohibited on the beach or in the park buildings.

Pets are welcome overnight in all the camping parks. Pet rules apply. Domestic breeds of dogs, (except guide or signal dogs or animal trained to assist individuals with a disability), cats, fur-bearing animals, birds and reptiles are not allowed in food-service areas, cabins or cabin areas, primitive campgrounds, beaches where bathing and swimming are permitted, either land and water portions, park buildings, playgrounds, and areas designated by park management. Captive wild species, whether native or non-native, and barnyard animals including horses, are not allowed.
Pets must be well behaved at all times and confined in the owner's camping unit during quiet hours. Unconfined pets may not be left unattended for more than 30 minutes and must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Please do not tie pets to park vegetation, natural or manmade structures or facilities. Pet owners must pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all droppings in trash receptacles. Pets are required to be vaccinated.
A pet that is noisy, disturbing, intimidating or dangerous to other people or pets, or which damages park resources, will not be allowed to remain in the park.
When occupying a campsite, please pull in or back in straight with your camping rig.
The roadway is narrow at sites 25,26,27,28,30,32,34; navigation into these sites can be difficult or impossible with large or extended cab trucks pulling fifth wheels or trailers.

No one younger than 18 may camp overnight unless accompanied by a responsible adult, who will remain onsite for the period rented.

Traveling north or south on I95, exit 284, travel east on SR100 to A1A (about 3 miles), go right on A1A south to park (about 3 miles), ranger station on west side of A1A.
North from Daytona Beach along A1A (about 18 miles).
South from St Augustine along A1A (about 30 miles).
